Trust

Trust

This step may be the same day or it can be a week later. It honestly depends on the glider itself. Once they are calmed down, then you can now show them how much you love them. I do this by opening the pouch and offering a treat. A treat could be anything from a yoggie, to a mealie, to a fish snack. It really all depends on what they like and prefer. Hold the treat a couple of inches from the opening of the pouch. Allow your glider to venture out to take the treat from you. This places a dependence and trust in you to your glider. Meaning they will depend on you for treats and food. Having that trust and dependence will help tremendously in your bonding process. If they have been handled by the breeder, then at this point you can try to pet their head. DO NOT get discouraged if it won’t let you pet it yet.. Right now, we want to work on the trust factor.
